James DeFrancesco is in his seventh year as a band director in the Worthington School district. He is currently a director of the Worthington Kilbourne High School Marching Band and Symphonic Band, and the band director at Phoenix Middle School and Liberty Elementary School. Prior to his appointment in Worthington, Mr. DeFrancesco was the director of the Westerville South High School Bands in Westerville, Ohio. He has been teaching both high school and middle school for 17 years. He takes great pride in knowing that his students show a love of music as evidenced by the number of students continuing each year in the program and continuing in high school program at Worthington Kilbourne.

Mr. DeFrancesco received his Bachelors of Music Education degree from The Ohio State University. During his time there, he performed with several elite ensembles including the Wind Symphony, Jazz Ensemble and The Ohio State University Marching Band. Continuing his education, he received his Masters degree from Capital University. He is also a member of the Ohio Music Education Association where also serves an adjudicator for marching band events.

Mr. D enjoys spending time with his wife, Jenny and their two daughters, Molly and Nora. He enjoys playing golf and anything and everything Buckeyes!
